Grocery Store Lapbook

Grocery Store Lapbook Activity!

Grocery Store Shopping List

Our visit with Mamaw Foster!

We have been working on our Grocery Store Lapbook! This day we took grocery adds and the girls got to cut out the items they would like to buy at the store and paste them in the booklet titled Grocery List! Of course they wanted to know if they could go buy what they had picked and was quickly told know this is just for fun! lol

We went that night to see Mamaw Foster and we had a great visit with her as you see! We have been so happy to see her doing so well. We are so thankful to God for all he has done and what he is going to do for her!

New bookshelf

I got my new bookshelves! Terry worked on building them on Saturday and I love it. He had helpers too as you can see in the pictures. Now if I had about 4 of these! lol I don't think that will happen for a while. lol I am thankful for this one though!

A Bubble Explosian

This was another activity for our Lapbook. We made a Bubble Explosion! The girls could not believe that Mommy was letting them make such a mess! lol

Bubbles, Bubbles, Bubbles

We made window bubbles. Even Daddy joined in the fun! Of course just looking at it and how it looked like glass wasn't enough for my kids, they had to try and blow bubbles too! lol They had a lot of fun too. This was one of our activities with our Bubbleology Lapbook, from Hands of a Child!

Our Day

Hands of a Child Lapbook we are working on!

We had some fun today! We are doing a lapbook by Hands of a child. The Bubbleology Lapbook!

Today one of the activities we did was bubble prints! It didn't do what I thought and trying to get my kids to understand the directions was a bit frustrating, but we just relaxed and it all turned out good. Here are a few pictures from the day. Oh also we are using our Mini Offices! Another great thing I learned about this year! It really helps the kids stay focused on their work!

Have you bought this planner yet? Well I would like to share with you the good and bad points that I found about the planner.
The Pros....

* Large Calendar with type it in feature! I love this!
* Recipes for all kinds of foods. I am always looking for a good recipe!
* All kinds of charts, such as measurement conversions and a lot more!
* Great quotes by famous people! One of my favorites is Ninety-nine percent of the failures come from people who have the habit of making excuses.
* Lots of articles, like reading a magazine!
* A lot of homeschool planning forms! I guess you expected that one!
* My favorite feature it includes a lot of household forms all with the type it in feature!

The Cons....

* A very large file! 247 pages! Slow loading even with DSL
* Articles are more for teaching older kids.
* Planning sheets don't start till page 125

Overall I think this planner will be a great asset to my family. We will use these pages in planning our School day and our day to day chores and such. If you need help in the area of planning this is the planner for you.

I would like to tell you about the best homeschool magazine that I have found. "The Old Schoolhouse" The magazine for Homeschool Families! I recently was able to subscribe to the Digital version of the magazine and wanted to share with you how much I have enjoyed it. This magazine has so many great articles relating to all types of Homeschooling families! The great things about the digital version is that it is fast, you don't have to wait for it to be printed and come in the mail. Once you recieve the link online you can go and view the magazine right away. If there is a link in one of the articles you can immediatly go to that site by clicking on the link and off you go to that site. If you are like me, when you are reading a magazine, you may plan on going to a site recommended, but never do it. That is what happens to me anyway! I really can't express to you how much I love this magazine. I think that every Homeschooling family needs to read it. If you would like to subscribe, just visit The Old Schoolhouse store and sign up today.

My Nephew Corey Lee Walden

My niece Trinity sent me pictures today of her and her baby boy, Corey Lee Walden! He is growing so fast! Isn't he a doll! Wish I could squeeze him!

School is starting

Just wanted to update everyone. We have been trying to get ready for our fall school schedule. We are excited to start, hoping to begin this Thursday! Hannah will be in 2nd grade and Madison is in Kindergarten. We are doing a Unit Study approach this year and I have been trying to be a lot more organized. lol I have been gathering up supplies to do the Hands of a Child Bubbles Lapbook. We hadn't got to that over the summer as planned, so we are doing it to start our year. Hannah and Madison are going to love it. There are many different recipes for making your own bubbles and many unusual ingredients! Like glycerin, apple juice, club soda, paint, food coloring and a few more that I can't think of right this moment. So keep checking the blog for updates.
