Terry opening his presents.
Me with my stocking. I had a special I love you note inside!
Madison opening her presents.
Hannah with the present that has been driving
her crazy. She thought it was a skateboard, but
She was pleasantly surprised to get a fishing pole.

This Christmas turned out to be one of our best. We are so thankful that God has blessed us with health and good things this christmas. It seemed that everytime I turned there was something good happening to our family. God is so good, whether he is blessing us with good things or not. I am so thankful for my kids and my family and everything God has given me.
We had a late visitor on Christmas Eve. Misty came and brought the girls a gift. "A Tea Set" they had fun with her playing tea party. We were so glad to see her, we really wish we got to see her and Kenny more.

On Christmas Eve we went to the nursing home to be with Terry's Mom, Shirley. She was real happy to see us and the girls. :) She made us laugh telling us about the lady who rooms with her. While we were there Aunt Mary and Diane came in for a visit also. They brought Shirley a milkshake which made her real happy. :)

Christmas Eve Gifts!

This was on Christmas Eve. The girls were so excited that they were getting to open a present. We decided that since normally on Christmas Eve they would get to open a gift from Aunt Teresa and Uncle Glynn that that would be a perfect gift to let them open. They love the new coats and they look so good on them. :) Thanks Aunt Teresa and Uncle Glynn for making the girls so happy!

Fun Thursday!

Today was a fun thursday with the kids. My cousin sent a package with a christmas present in it and it had extra cardboard with it. Well, my girls minds immediatly went to what can we use it for! lol Maddie began to try to skate with them. My mind started churning and we decided to make a farm! We made a house looking structure then I built a coral type fence. It turned out well. I will have to take a picture for you to see. They played with it for a little while and then we were right back to "I am bored". lol Which Hannah had more school work to do, so that boredom changed quickly to...... ahhhh Mom! lol She wrote her new words on the board 3 times and then she was done with her work for today.

Yesterday, we went and got a few things for christmas. I finally got the pictures of the girls developed too. :) So I can mail my christmas cards. :) Well I am going to close this for now! Hope you enjoy my rambling! lol

Yesterday we finally accomplished getting our christmas tree up! :) It has been a process! lol My girls ages 4 and 6 want to do it all! All I can say is it's up and it looks good for all it has been through! lol Trying to get the house looking like christmas has taken so much of our time. It was such a beautiful day outside yesterday, kinda weird since it was 77 degrees! lol Kinda hard to get in the christmas spirit at that temperature, but I am not going to complain. I really don't care for cold weather. Today it is cloudy and raining so my hubby is home in bed. This could be an interesting day. When he is home things never go as planned! lol Well I should go and get some things done before we start our school work. :) Have a great day!

Fun, Fun, Fun.....

Well here I am again. My kids were sick several days last week, so no time to post! :( We made a few memories in between the sick days. :) I want to share a few pictures here. :) We made salt dough ornaments and painted them. :) This was fun. We are going to give some of them away to our friends. :) We also made gingerbread men hooked together and put clothes on some and colored some. The girls liked this. :) We are trying to work on a gingerbread lapbook a little at a time too. :) Hannah made a 100 on her spelling test this week too. So things are going good. :) She is doing better and better at her writing and learning to read. She can read simple books, but she gets discouraged easily. We are trying to work more on that. :) Madison is doing good. Her speech is getting so good. She says so many grown up statements! lol She is doing good with counting too. :) We are working on colors and the alpahabet. She gets part of the letters then she gets mixed up, but we are in no hurry to teach it either. We are just going at her pace. :) Sometimes I forget that! I have to remind myself that the kids are learning so much and it don't have to be so hard! :)
The girls are so excited about tonight. The Walnut Christmas Parade is tonight and they are going to ride on our church float. I pray it don't rain. Well I need to go, I got so much to get done today. :) Have a great day!

Just another day!!

Well today was just another day in the life of the Foster family. Hannah earned another star on her math chart. She is getting better at her addition each day. I think we are going to start focusing more on subtraction next week. She doesn't like subtraction very well. She is learning more and more words too. We started a new word list and she earns stars for each word she can read and spell without looking. She earned 4 today! I am proud of her! Madison is doing good at counting also. She counted to 10 with me several times. She is a reluctant learner, we have to kinda trick her into learning. :) Hannah also is working on learning a new bible verse. I tried to get her to sing it and learn it, but I was unsuccessful, so we will work on that again tomorrow. I have learned that some things are better to take slow. :) Well this has been our day of homeschool, we will see what tomorrow holds. Goodnight.

Well here I am on saturday night! Up late again getting everything ready for church in the morning. Not a lot happened today, the girls wanted to make something so I let them make leaf pictures. They had collected quite a few leaves and had them in a bag in the house, so they glued them to paper and drew around the leaves with markers. :) Made them happy, and I got just a few minutes of peace. lol Well I need to get to bed so I can rise and shine early in the morning and get everyone ready for sunday school. Goodnight

My First Blog

Well here I am posting my first post to my first blog page. :) Today is the day after thanksgiving 2007 and I am so thankful for what God has given me. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful girls who love me. I have a great family of brothers and a sister that all are so special to me. I have a wonderful church family that I love so much. I just am so thankful for all the great blessings God has given to me. Oh, yeah there are days when things don't go quite as planned and we have bad days just like everyone else, but overall God has been way to good to me for me to complain. He woke me up this morning and started me on my way, so I am thankful for that. On this blog it is my plan to tell about my family and our days of homeschooling. I would love to be able to follow in some of the footsteps of bloggers I have seen that share ideas that have inspired me in homeschooling. I love teaching in a creative fashion and I would love to be able to inspire others also. I know everyone who homeschools doesn't do it for all the same reasons, but we can all join together and share the neat ideas all stirring in our heads. I just would like to help get you mind stirring with great ideas. Well I feel that I have blogged enough for this post so I will close. I will be back soon with more updates and some pictures too. Take care and have wonderful and thankful day! God Bless You
